Games at a glance
The Ontario Winter Games will take place from March 4 – 7, 2010 and will be held in Bracebridge, Georgian Bay, Gravenhurst, Huntsville, Lake of Bays, Muskoka Lakes, and Sudbury.

History of the Games
- Started in 1970
- Showcase for Amateur sport
- Province’s largest multi-sport events
- Provides young athletes with development and competitive opportunities to prepare them for national and international competitions
- Gives the public a chance to see some of Ontario’s best amateur athletes compete at Provincial level
- A program of the Sport Alliance of Ontario (contracted delivery agent of the Ministry of Health Promotion

Anticipated attendance
- There will be 3,500 participants including athletes, coaches and officials
- Muskoka is expecting over 7500 visitors for the Games, primarily parents and friends of the athletes.

- Hotels are booked solid, restaurants are busy, puts all of the Partner Communities on the map

- We receive some funding through “Quest for Gold” which is designed to enhance the sport experience for the participants.
